14 / 30 Day Crocodile Conservation Mission

Join the Crocodile Research course and gain hands-on experience working with crocodiles, primates, and a variety of Belize’s incredible wildlife while exploring the country’s rich and diverse ecosystems.

Whether you choose our 2-week or 1-month program, you’ll take part in real-world fieldwork including crocodile population surveys (by day and night), nest monitoring, biodiversity assessments around lagoons and mangroves, and even mangrove restoration projects as part of the Belize Mangrove Alliance. You may be involved with further wildlife monitoring such as primate surveys, tracking howler and spider monkeys, some of whom were rescued from the illegal pet trade.

You’ll assist with animal husbandry and behavioral studies of our crocodile ambassadors, participate in environmental education events with local communities, and learn how to turn science into action through expert-led presentations on research methods, ecology, parasitology, genetics, and more.
