8 Days – Step into the world of elephant conservation
This immersive 8-day elephant conservation expedition is designed for travellers seeking a journey that directly contributes to wildlife protection in Laos. Combining hands-on field experience with cultural connection, this small group programme offers a rare opportunity to support elephant conservation in one of Southeast Asia’s most important landscapes.
Begin at Laos’ only elephant hospital, gaining insight into elephant behaviour, welfare, veterinary care, and the rewilding process that prepares elephants for return to the wild. Then move off-grid into the 192,000-hectare Nam Pouy National Protected Area, home to Laos’ second-largest wild elephant population. In the field, take part in purposeful conservation activities – trek through elephant
habitat with monitoring teams, assist with noninvasive surveys and camera trap deployment, and experience remote forest camping under the canopy. Cultural exchange is woven throughout, with opportunities to connect with local communities through shared meals and traditional ways of life.
Blending conservation, culture, and adventure, this mission-led expedition delivers an ethical, immersive experience while directly contributing to the protection of wild elephants in Laos
