6 Day – Elephant Veterinary Conservation Mission
Learn from a global team of Asian elephant veterinary and conservation specialists in this intensive 6-day training course in elephant conservation medicine. Based at a leading elephant conservation in Laos, the programme takes place within a unique learning environment home to rescued Asian elephants, their mahouts, and dedicated veterinary infrastructure including an on-site elephant hospital, laboratory, classrooms, and extensive forest habitat.
The course is designed and delivered by an international network of elephant veterinarians, reproductive physiologists, behaviour and welfare scientists, and conservation experts, supported by experienced regional veterinary staff. Together, they bring specialist expertise in elephant health, reproduction, endocrinology, behaviour, and applied conservation medicine.
Learning is highly practical and immersive, combining lectures, workshops, laboratory training, and field-based instruction. Gain hands-on exposure to elephant anatomy, diagnostics, disease management, welfare assessment, reproduction, and clinical techniques through supervised practice and real case-based learning.
