- Working alongside experienced veterinary and caretaker teams, you will support the intake of new patients from illegal wildlife trade confiscations, injuries, and orphaned cases, as well as provide ongoing care and monitoring for resident animals that cannot be released. From primates to parrots and a wide range of native species, each case offers meaningful, hands-on experience in wildlife medicine and welfare. This state-of-the-art wildlife clinic is Laos’ first Lao-registered, all-inclusive wildlife rescue and conservation organisation, equipped to treat native species (excluding elephants) with world-class veterinary facilities. Viewing windows into the procedure room, laboratory, and necropsy suite offer a unique insight into clinical wildlife care. Daily responsibilities include caring for animals in quarantine and hospital wards, assisting the veterinary team, conducting health checks, supporting treatments, maintaining records, managing inventory, and responding to emergencies and surgeries. With no fixed schedule, priorities shift based on incoming cases, ensuring direct, real-time conservation impact and animal welfare support.

Trek: This immersive 8-day expedition is designed for travellers seeking to directly support elephant conservation in Laos. Begin at Laos’ only elephant hospital, exploring elephant welfare, veterinary care, behaviour, and rewilding before heading into the 192,000-hectare Nam Pouy National Protected Area, home to the country’s second-largest wild elephant population. Take part in meaningful field activities including habitat trekking, elephant monitoring, non-invasive surveys, camera trap deployment, and remote forest camping. Combined with opportunities to connect with local communities, this programme offers a unique blend of conservation, culture, and adventure while contributing to the protection of wild elephants.
Vet: Join a global team of elephant veterinary and conservation specialists in this intensive 6-day training programme in Laos. Based at a leading elephant conservation centre with an elephant hospital, laboratory, and forest habitat, participants gain direct insight into elephant health, welfare, and conservation medicine.Through a mix of lectures, workshops, laboratory sessions, and practical learning, explore elephant anatomy, diagnostics, disease management, reproduction, welfare assessment, and clinical techniques through supervised, case-based experiences.
Immersion: Step into the elephant conservation realm of Laos for an immersive programme focused on elephant behaviour, welfare, and applied conservation medicine. Work alongside veterinarians, biologists, and research teams to study herd dynamics, social behaviour, and elephant identification in protected habitat. Contribute to behavioural monitoring using ethograms and gain insight into veterinary and management practices including health checks, welfare assessment, positive reinforcement training, and practical clinical skills used to support elephant conservation. -
